daily tidbit 4

Nadi loves being awake. Sleeping for him is like losing precious hours in which he could have been exploring the world, discovering new things, learning some more. But when my dad is around, his precious Nana-Abba, he will forsake all the excitement of the world, crawl into his lap like a weary traveller in a desert and snuggle away for a nap with him.

The reason grandchildren and grandparents get along so well is that they have a common enemy- the mother  ~Sam Levenson

If your baby is “beautiful and perfect, never cries or fusses, sleeps on schedule and burps on demand, an angel all the time,” you’re the grandma.  ~Teresa Bloomingdale

  1. yes they say that grandparents hearts are warm and their laps (gaudh) “cool” (in a good way) ..they also say that g/parents love the “interest” more than the principal amount…not that i think grand parents can be so mercenary but i really feel a grand parents/grand kid is the most “unselfish” relationship ever and you are Loved from the Beginning…like even parents have “expectations” but g/parents just reward you for being there!!

  2. oh gosh – how absolutely adorable! the bond between granparents and their nieces and nephews is amazing, its like the baby instinctly knows…

  3. i have been missing Nadi ki kahaniyaan!! 😦

the photo is absolutely adorable!!! touchwood! viva the awesome grandparents!!

    cheers!

  4. jammie- sorry 😉 its because of the picture i thought that kAy might have done it!!
but yea- you’re cool and so is your whole khandaan and the little one. so please keep sadqa-ing and we’ll keep you guys in prayers 🙂

  5. oh sara, that’s beautiful. I just got a bib today that reads “If mom says no, ask grandma”…my mom is SO going to love it! I know i’ve been MIA since forever but let’s catch up soon..kisses to beautiful Nadir and yes, i’m totally all about the boys now, just like you said i would be.

  6. insiya: i did take this picture 😛 this IS from that series you saw on facebook !

i have finally stopped being the “baby” of the family since nadir has arrived…my parents have another little thing to focus on…i think grandparents are thrilled because they have again someone ho will listen to them for another 10 years atleast which is why they dote on them 🙂

  7. sara, how do u deal with not having ur wishes respected? today its chai, tmrw it will be junk food, tv or homework.

i have a hard time with that because its a sure enough recipe for spoiling ur child? yet at the same time, i dont want him to loose their love. ive just seen it so much, where kids with grandparents around, are definitely alot more wilder than those in nuclear.

  8. yea sheza- tis a toss up. although its not as blatant as having my wishes respected- obviously everyone has their own take on what is ok for a kid- you just have to keep reminding them that its your kid 🙂
i have great people around me who wont go against my wishes- they will only bend rules here and there and frankly in my world thats what grandparents have always stood for! haha. im trying to keep it light….for now 🙂
